Innovation of Thoughts about the Future; Pranavi (11B)

Imagine waking up to a world where you no longer have to visit the hospital
when you’re not well, and instead you have personalized healthcare robots to
diagnose you instead. Imagine wearing smart clothes that can monitor your
body temperature. This may sound impossible, but thanks to Artificial
Intelligence and Machine Learning, this could come to life! Every great
innovation once started off with an imagination and the need to make a
change.

My idea about the future would be “Healthcare, but make it 2050.” This idea
emphasizes the rapid advancement of AI and ML, which can be used to make
our lives much easier. Despite remarkable developments, there are certain
challenges faced in the healthcare sector: Slow growth of technological
advancements, shortage of proper faculty for treatment of mental health
conditions, shortage of healthcare personnel etc, delay in diagnosing the
conditions of patients etc, lack of donor organs which could result in potential
death.

Healthcare is one of the most important sectors, and any
shortcomings/delay in this sector would endanger the lives of many.
Potential solutions to the listed problems are:

Introduction of “smart clothes – Vital Wear” which can regulate body temperature, monitor your
blood pressure and can remind you to drink water in regular intervals. A “smart
partner – Health Co” i.e. a robot that can diagnose your healthcare symptoms at
the convenience of your home itself, so that there is no delay in providing
required treatment. An “organ printing system – Organ3D” that could
potentially print 3d organs which can function well, so that people who have
undergone organ failure get a new chance at life. A “wellness support bot –
Mind Mate” which can act as a pillar of support or a companion to patients who
face mental health conditions.

As Steve Jobs said “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower”,
real innovation begins when each of us questions “what if”. A far-sighted idea
could be the new tomorrow if we imagine! Many of these ideas are undergoing
development today, but soon they could become the new future. “Healthcare,
but make it 2050” isn’t about replacing the current system – it is about making
it stronger than ever! .
