The Ticking That Haunts; Yachna Anand (12E)

I was 5 minutes too late,
A 300-second delay.
You held my hand only a couple moments ago,
Chuckling at my corny joke.
I whispered sweet nothings to you,
But it seemed like you already knew.
Why did you let me go then?
Made me leave my seat beside your bed
Gave me a coin that chinged in the machine,
Let me grab my favourite treat.
Assured me you’d still be here,
While I made my treat slowly disappear.
Let my numb ears get a break from,
All the beeping and the hums
I spent 5 minutes away
And now I’ll never see you again
