Woah! What is that thing? That my friends are ferrofluid. I know it looks like a mountain range but if you touch it, it will be purely liquid, but it might cause a skin disease. It becomes spiky in a magnetic field. All its spikes will have equal height, length, and breadth. It is made of laser printer toner and iron filings. Even though magnets make iron filings form uneven spikes the toner makes it stay at the same level. This is a very weird substance, though harmful, yet magical.
