Poem Winner: The Butterfly – Akshita Srivastava 12A

When she was a caterpillar,
she was disrespected for her appearance.
She always wondered,
what was she was missing?
As she went into her cocoon,
it felt like she found her haven.
In the darkness of her home,
she found the light within herself.
As the days passed by,
she shone with the brightness of a thousand suns.
She soon noticed,
she had grown wings that were sunny yellow.
As she departed from her haven,
she was no longer a caterpillar who could be dominated.
As she fluttered her wings,
all eyes were in awe.
